MR Angiography of the Peripheral Arteries
MR angiographic imaging of the peripheral arteries serves to diagnose a possible peripheral artery occlusive disease (PAOD). This refers to a circulatory disorder in your legs and feet caused by constriction or occlusion of the peripheral arteries. The typical symptoms are work-related pain, a disturbed sense of temperature, and most of all a cold sensation in your feet. At an advanced stage of the disease, skin abnormalities that do not heal on their own may also arise.
Treatment options depend on the individual stage of the disease and especially on the dilation and localization of the vascular constrictions or occlusions in question. Thanks to MR angiography, these abnormalities can be displayed so precisely that the appropriate treatment measures can be taken immediately.
