Duplex Sonography of the Arm Arteries
Duplex sonography of the arm arteries is useful, for instance, to evaluate the patency before or after installing a cardiac catheter inserted via the lower radial artery. Sometimes when you have a vascular disease, you may also experience circulatory disorders in the arm arteries. Color-coded duplex procedures can prove or rule out with certainty any blockages of the arteries by blood clots (embolisms).
